Board Care

  • ◈ Always HAND WASH your board

    1. Gently remove loose food

    2. Gently hand wash both sides of your board using anti-bacterial soap and a sponge

    3. Rinse your board

    4. Towel dry your board

    5. Air dry your board by standing it upright on its edge

    ◈ NEVER SUBMERGE your board

    ◈ NEVER put your board in the dishwasher

  • ◈ Anti-bacterial soap

    ◈ A clean dish towel

    ◈ Food grade mineral oil ONLY, beeswax, or a blend of beeswax and mineral oil: Howard Cutting Board oil or Chapham’s Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish

    *Any mineral oil will do as long as it is FOOD GRADE

  • ◈ A new board should be oiled every week for the first few weeks

    ◈ A seasoned board should be oiled once a month or when it looks “thirsty”

    ◈ Sprinkle a few drops of water and it should bead up
